Gertler & Wente Architects was asked to design a new seven-story apartment building for a developer on an infill site in Harlem. Each floor of the building contains two 1,000 s.f. condominiums. Each of the residences have been designed with amenities such as balconies, eat in kitchens, two full bathrooms and hardwood flooring. The building is steel frame with a masonry skin designed to incorporate modern convenience while seamlessly integrating the new structure into the existing neighborhood. Pile foundations were required to accommodate poor soil conditions and the close proximity of a subway line.
